What is it?
There are lots of ideas out there and some of them are even good! Ideas will usually die unless they are shared and nurtured. We are looking for people who have ideas and want to see them grow. They are looking to turn their ideas into action, rather than just talk.
An Action Mastermind Group is for people who want to do things in life. They want to create and grow. They want to make a contribution. They want to help others while they are growing.
How does it work?
The Action Mastermind Group will meet at least monthly and will consist of 3-6 “members.” At each Action Mastermind Group each member will speak to what they are currently working on and what they are trying to accomplish. Other members are encouraged to ask questions and provide positive feedback. This feedback should be brief, as each member will have a limited time to present their ideas.
Members will also provide a brief summary and contact email to the “leader”, who will distribute these summaries after the meeting via email.
We expect the real magic to happen outside the Action Mastermind Group meeting. Members are expected to look for ways to help other members. This can happen several ways:
1. Members can provide more detailed feedback and assistance.
2. Members can provide “connections” to others that may prove useful to the other member’s goals.
3. Members may join together to pursue joint interests or ventures. This is entirely Ok and expected.
What kinds of ideas are appropriate for discussion in the Action Mastermind Group?
Most creative endeavors that have a “next step” are appropriate. Examples might include:
1. A new business idea.
2. A special project that you feel strongly about.
3. A special charity that you are organizing.
What kinds of ideas are not appropriate?
Anything that doesn’t have a “next step” is probably not right. That’s why we call it an “Action” Mastermind. We want our members to take action with their ideas and not just talk about them.
How can I join?
Just contact the sponsor at firstname.lastname@example.org . The sponsor will work to find a group appropriate for you.
How much does it cost?
There will be a nominal per meeting fee to help offset costs and to be sure members are serious (e.g $10-$15.) If money is an issue please let the sponsor know as we don’t ever want that to be an impediment (e.g student, unemployed, etc.)
We want to encourage groups that are often ignored – young adults and retirees or soon to be retirees. These groups are often looking for new ideas to explore.
